Which type of solar panel? You really only need to use vacuum tube collectors in areas with less sunshine, very low daytime ambient temperatures or in awkward positions. They're not for the majority of installations in Southern France and Spain. For awkward positions vacumn tube collectors are more effecitive because you can rotate each tube so it catches the most sunlight. (E.g a flat roof) It's also worth noting that because you can't see a vacuum make sure you buy high quality tubes that actually retain it.
